PerformTech Sponsors for the Inaugural 8K Race, Run!Geek!Run!
PerformTech Partners with Equal Footing Foundation and Northern Virginia Technology Council
Alexandria, VA, October 2, 2008. PerformTech announces its sponsorship in the inaugural 8K event, Run! Geek! Run!, taking place on Sunday, November 2, 2008 in West Potomac Park in Washington, DC. In partnering with the Equal Footing Foundation and the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), PerformTech is supporting a worthy cause. All proceeds of the race will support the Equal Footing Foundation, which is the charitable arm of NVTC.
Closely aligned with the values of PerformTech, the Equal Footing Foundation’s primary goal is to provide an environment supporting the education and development of area youth while empowering the next generation to be leaders in the community. The Equal Footing Foundation launched in 2001 as the charitable arm of the Northern Virginia Technology Council is a 501(C)(3) foundation. Itsgoal is to provide an equal opportunity environment where youth can access the tools needed to successfully compete with a skilled and educated workforce. It accomplishes this by funding, launching and sustaining Computer Clubhouses in partnership with local governments, businesses and other non-profit entities. The Computer Clubhouses are centrally located within established community centers, and in close proximity to schools and bus routes for easy after school access.
