PerformTech Participates in Rebuilding Together Alexandria
Alexandria, VA, May 1, 2009 –PerformTech, an industry leader in e-learning and custom training solutions, participated in Rebuilding Together Day on April 25, 2009 in Alexandria, Virginia. Rebuilding Together, formerly known as “Christmas in April”, is a non-profit organization with over 200 affiliates partnering with volunteers to revitalize homes and community centers for low income homeowners, the elderly, and disabled.
The PerformTech Team worked to rehabilitate both the interior and exterior of the St. Martin Porres Senior Center. The center is an asset to senior citizens in Alexandria, offering a place to socialize, receive health assessments, and participate in a variety of activities.
“PerformTech is proud to support and sponsor Rebuilding Together Alexandria. It’s particularly gratifying to be able to help those in our community in this our 15th year in Alexandria,” said Katie Moran, President and CEO.
PerformTech supported this year’s effort by not only serving as a sponsor for the city wide initiative but also by identifying additional needs at the Center and fulfilling them on the day of the event. PerformTech’s team of volunteers weeded flower beds, transplanted bushes, planted perennials and evergreens, repaired the concrete steps, replaced lighting fixtures, re-hung room partitions, painted, and cleaned out and reorganized a storage shed.
For Rebuilding Together Day is a national event to repair and renovate low-income housing and community centers that serve lo income population. Last year’s event drew over 450,000 volunteers and repaired over 9,000 homes. This year, Rebuilding Together Alexandria rebuilt 52 sites.
