The Bill of Rights Institute, a national non-profit organization headquartered in Arlington Virginia was established to educate high school students and teachers about America's Founding principles. PerformTech has partnered with the Bill of Rights Institute to develop an Interactive CD-ROM to support a ten-unit classroom course that explores the civic values embedded in the Founding documents. Focusing on civic values such as Courage, Justice, Integrity, and Respect. The CD-ROM provides a variety of engaging interactive exercises that allow the student to apply these civic values to typical challenging situations they face every day.

The Bill of Rights Institute seeks to educate high school students and teachers about our country's founding principles. To advance this mission, the Bill of Rights Institute developed an integrated line of education programs. To further enhance one of their new educational programs, Citizenship & Character, the Bill of Rights Institute sought PerformTech to develop interactive, technology enabled exercises to supplement the classroom materials.

PerformTech developed a series of 10 CD-ROM-based interactive exercises to supplement the classroom instruction. After discussing and exploring the historical and educational concepts underlying each of the civic values, the students have the opportunity to apply the knowledge they have acquired in the classroom to personal experiences by completing these interactive exercises. Throughout the interactive exercises, the students are placed in real-world scenarios and required to make decisions. After making decisions, the students receive feedback and outcomes regarding their decisions. After completing the interactive scenarios, a classroom debrief is conducted. This allows the students to discuss their experiences encountered within the interactive exercises. The exercises were developed using Macromedia Flash MX and feature real world scenarios, dynamic interfaces, animations, sound effects, and audio narration. The exercises are currently being used by high schools throughout the Nation to supplement their Character Education curriculum and have been featured at various educational conferences to demonstrate how technology is used to enhance the learning process.
