Client Need

To achieve these goals, OTD is consolidating much of its training production under the management of a single contractor PerformTech.

PerformTech Solution

As CBP’s Factory Floor contractor, PerformTech is responsible for gaining a clear understanding of the agency’s goals for each training effort; identifying and securing resources for training production; delivering solutions on time and within budget while consistently maintaining a high level of quality; ensuring that internal staff and partners adhere to OTD standards; improving processes to streamline development; documenting best practices; assessing business cases and generating cost estimates for proposed training; and providing oversight of contractual administrative and reporting requirements. Under this arrangement, PerformTech manages and/or develops more than 35 training efforts simultaneously. The projects are varied in scope, and include small, fast-track web-based training development; analysis and review of complex curricula; and very large, blended curriculum development initiatives. Examples include:

  • Pandemic Influenza Preparedness
  • Task-Based Spanish Language Curriculum
  • Post-Academy Curriculum for Border Patrol Agents
  • Field Operations Training for CBP Officers
  • Equipment Operator Training
  • Safety/Hazardous Materials
  • Drug-Free Workplace Education
  • International Affairs Training
